Generally the planks have a gray tone from weathering and may have red or white paint, depending on the part of the country where it was recovered from. Thicknesses generally range from THREE QUARTERS OF AN INCH to FIVE QUARTER before any milling is done. Species are generally antique pine and antique hemlock.
